A Perfect Start at
THE LITTLE GYM
This class for 4-10months teaches parents how to support their children through new movements and skills, from tummy time and wheelbarrows to bridges and handstands! Our Bugs classes develop strength, sensory processing, gross and fine motor skills.
Developmental Milestones
At this age, the average infant has an awareness of his
environment: noise, music, people, etc. And the brain is developing at
an extremely fast rate, taking in and processing massive amounts of
information. Many children at this age can sit up (approx. 4-6 mo), are
trying to crawl (6-10 mo), or are in the pre-walking phase (8-10mo.). By
as early as 6 months, many infants attempt simple fine-motor movements:
clapping waving, reaching, and grasping for objects. |

The Little Gym Curriculum
- Group activities introduce children to each other and adults.
Activities set to music introduce rhythm, body awareness, language,
and number concepts.
-
Parents/child exercises promote core body strength (torso, arms,
legs) and prepare children for crawling and walking.
-Modified, developmentally appropriate gymnastics activities develop
strength, body and spatial awareness and balance.
- Ball and bubble activities facilitate hand-eye coordination.
